For its 110th anniversary Harley Davidson organizes an event in the Vatican, the biker meeting brings together 2 thousand bikers inside the basilica and Pope Francis makes a blessing of motorcycles and an exceptional mass. How far back in time have been those years of rebellion and rock and roll of the 40s and 50s, young people returned from the war who found no place in the new society and were dedicated to destroy it, and how difficult it is to remember the 60s and 70s where libertarian, pacifist and antisystem hippies crossed the long American roads on board custom Harleys. For all that youth, the motorcycle was the vehicle representative of their intentions, of the way of understanding and living life.

Harley Davidson has become a company of the establishment, no longer wants to scandalize anyone. From this reaction, the following advances result: speed controller, GPS and video screen, bluetooth connection, voice recognition system, digital sound, tire pressure control, remote central locking of suitcases and LED lighting. The forks are more rigid, the front and rear brakes are fitted with ABS and the most important innovation is that semi-liquid cooling adapts to the 1800 cubic cm engines.

Finally, and in contrast to its own history, comes total innovation, a surprise in the world of motorcycles and its most radical critics. The Harley Davidson LiveWire is launched, its engine is not a V-twin, it does not make noise, it is fine and elegant, it accelerates and brakes like never before on any motorbike in the history of the brand, the chromed ones are eliminated and it is the first Harley who does not touch the fiber of nostalgia.
